Spiritual, Religious and Emotional Support
Talk to us
If you are struggling with feelings or concerns we are here to help.
Chaplains offer support to people of all backgrounds, with or without a specific faith or belief. The Chaplains visit wards regularly. If you would like a visit please ask a member of staff to make contact on your behalf or you could do this yourself by phoning: 01382 632755.
We work office hours Monday-Friday, however, there is an on-call Chaplain available for urgent referrals which can be accessed via switchboard on: 01382 660 111
If you would like your own belief group leader to visit you in hospital, the Chaplains will be very happy to help arrange this for you.
Our Services
Bereavement
The grieving process is different for everyone. Coping with loss can led to many different reactions, both physical and emotional. Talking to our Bereavement Officer can help you navigate this difficult process.
Chaplaincy
Our Chaplains support everyone, faith or no faith. We are here to offer pastoral, spiritual and religious support. Our team will talk about whatever you want to express or explore without judgement. Spiritual care needs could include difficult news, fear of medical procedures, baby loss or feeling lonely.
Staff Wellbeing
Our wellbeing and workshop services support NHS staff to maintain their resilience through times of difficulty, stress, loss, or ill-health. We also help to enhance the quality of working relationships, enabling teams to work better together and find positive ways forward after difficult incidents
Our Services
Community Listening
Many people find it helpful to talk when struggling emotionally with challenging life events. The Community Listening Service provides 50 minute appointments. Telling your story uninterrupted and judgment-free could help you to sort through your emotions. You may then be able to rediscover your strength and find a way forward.
The Centre
The centre offers a physical space set aside from the busy hospital environment. The space can be used for quiet contemplation and reflection, private meetings with Chaplains and religious worship and prayer.
Memorial
The centre contains the baby memorial book, baby memorial tree and the organ donor memorial tree which can be visited at any time. The baby memorial book is available to view on request.
